Machine-readability analyzer

Can a machine understand your page, or just load it?

Search engines, AI answer engines and AI agents all read the same HTML. This analyzer scores how easy yours is to parse, quote and act on.

machine-readability-analyzer

Machine readability is how easily software such as search crawlers, AI answer engines and AI agents can parse a web page's content, structure and actions. It depends on semantic HTML, a clean heading outline, structured data, descriptive links, alt text, labeled form fields and clear, quotable sentences.

What the score measures

  • Document basics: title length, meta description, language and canonical.
  • Outline: exactly one H1 and heading levels that step down in order.
  • Structured data: whether JSON-LD is present and parses.
  • Quotable sentences: short, factual, definition-style sentences answer engines can lift. "A drain cleaning takes about an hour" is quotable. "We are passionate about excellence" is not.
  • Accessibility signals: image alt text and descriptive link text.
  • Agent readiness: labeled form fields, autocomplete hints and named buttons, so an AI agent can fill and submit forms for a user.

Paste the raw source, not the rendered DOM, if you want to see what non-rendering crawlers get. For JavaScript apps, compare both. See JavaScript SEO for why that matters.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

What is machine readability?

Machine readability is how easily software can parse and understand a page: its structure, meaning and available actions. It depends on semantic HTML, headings, structured data, descriptive text and labeled forms.

What is a quotable sentence?

A short, specific, factual sentence that can stand on its own, such as a definition, a cost range or a time estimate. Answer engines prefer to quote sentences like these.

Why do form labels matter for SEO?

Labels do not directly affect rankings, but AI agents and assistive technologies depend on them to understand what each field needs. Pages with unlabeled forms are harder for agents to complete on a user's behalf.

Is my HTML sent anywhere?

No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser.
